Kamal graduated from Hampton University with a pre-med degree in biology. He teaches high school advanced chemistry, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Environmental Science. He has been a National Institute of Health (NIH) Research Fellow and a member of the State Superintendent’s Teachers Advisory Council. Kamal turned down two full scholarships to medical school to pursue his passion, science education. He is dedicated to disrupting systemic educational inequality and is committed to social justice equity for all!

As Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs, Pamela Scully leads university-wide programs and initiatives to ensure academic excellence and student success across an interdisciplinary undergraduate experience. In collaboration with faculty, the undergraduate schools and the divisions of Enrollment and Campus Life, Scully works to ensure that an Emory undergraduate education provides students with optimal intellectual and personal exploration and development, preparing them for lifelong learning and career success.

Jacques Lesure is a scholar-activist invested in educational justice. Jacques is a PhD candidate in Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with research interests related to school climates and racial justice. He received his undergraduate degree from Occidental College, where Jacques served as student body president and designed a major entitled Resistive Education in Theory, Research, and Policy. He is a Step Ahead Scholars alumnus from Clarkston High School, in DeKalb County, Georgia. Jacques is the founder and CEO of Navigate College Now, an educational consulting firm that helps diverse students maximize available college resources. He believes in the power of access.

Bernard Parker is the Senior Vice President of Global Commercialization at Mirum Pharmaceuticals, where he leads the company’s commercialization strategy and global launch planning. Bernard brings more than 20 years of commercialization, corporate development and growth strategy experience. He has held multiple U.S., European and global leadership positions at leading companies such as Novartis, Ionis, Ignyta and Amgen. Bernard has deep experience in both the US and international markets. Earlier in his career, he worked on corporate strategy and private equity, as a management consultant, at Bain & Company. Bernard holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and B.A. from Hampton University.
